I have always been a huge fan of the Breaking Glass film, particularly with Hazel's performance as an actress as well as a singer with a cool but weird voice! It took me a good while to actually find the Breaking Glass CD, after finding the single "Will Y u?" on vinyl at an open air market in Earlestown, Merseyside. "Will You?" is an inspired song and I love it to death. I just think it's cool that someone has dedicated a site to just this film! Jonothan Pryce's deaf sax player role was really cool, and to anyone out there the film is a gem, watch it! That's it! -Angela xx

I was starting to wonder for a while if I was the only person in the States who saw this wonderful movie. I'm so glad I found your site with many Hazel O'Connor ones. I got to see the U.S. version of the film. I would love to see the UK one also. After ma y years of searching a friend of mine found the soundtrack. Unfortunately it was on vinyl and I no longer have a record player. sigh..... Maybe soon I'll find someone who can tape it for me. Thanks.

Hi, Thanks so much for having this page up. I used to listen to Hazel's music ~10 years ago, and then forgot about her, even her name. Today I suddenly remembered the name, couldn't find any info about her, but then the web... I couldn't remember the movie, but I have actually seen the UK version back in the 80s. As this is Hazel's own story, I think I like the one without happy ending better. Once again, thanks, great site, and the music samples were fabulous!

I can't believe you've got a whole site for this film! I have gone through 3 copies of the soundtrack (in the 80's) and a friend found it for me on vinyl in NY last year. I haven't seen the film in at LEAST 10 years, and can barely remember it now. All I now is that I'm desparately searching for it. Always. If you can tell me where to find a copy of either version (I'll look around too, for the US for you as well) I would greatly appreciate it! Thanks!! Z

I am always pleased to see a sight with Hazel O`Connor in and a really good sight at that. Does anyopne know who has the costume as worn by Hazel in the film. It was given away as a prize in of Hazel`s fan club parties which unfortunately I could not attend. we are talking early 80`s and the guy who won it, lives I believe around the midlands. Also I am seeing Hazel live in London in October at The Mean Fidler, date yet to be confirmed. there will be a few of us there but anyone is welcome to join us. There seems to be a little revival of Breaking Glass going on. To understand the 80's all you have to do is rent "Smithereens" and "Breaking Glass" - if anyone knows how to get the UK version of this film PLEASE email me!! I have never seen it. Night Flig t used to play the US version on Friday nights ages ago. And I thought I was the only sad git who loves this film to death. It brings back great memories of a party or two in the early 80's. I could quite happily pass away listening to the sax playing during Will You!. My idea of a perfect evening - a bottle of Jack Daniels, a video of Breaking Glass and a video of American Werewolf In London. To answer the request of other guests...I've only ever seen the version which finishes with the rest home!

great site. i own this movie, and i've watched it about 50-times, but i've never seen that part at the end where she leaves the stage, and goes to the underground, and then to the rest home??? is there another version, (directors cut) or something o t there? if so, please let me know what else was added to the film, and where i can find a copy. thank you

WOW! There are others who remember this film. I saw it years ago on some cable network, Movie Channel, Showtime or something. I still have my old soundtrack cassette. I used the lyrics once when I played a "Rocker Boy" in "Cyberpunk" (perfect lyrics for it) Unfortunately, I can't recall much of the movie, but for everyone's relief, Yes!, it does exist on video, I've seen it in a video store. Hey, a great job presenting an obscure but really deserving film. I saw it on cable years and years ago, but don't recall the breakdown and the run to the train... I remember the film as ending with the end of the big production number. Am I hallucinati g or was this the "upbeat" version released to HBO in the U.S.?

It´s amazing, we just had to get on the net and see what Hazel O´Connor is up to now. We´ve lived for the memories of this movie for ages and finally today we watched it again!!!!! Our flatmates just got up and left while we screamed out the lyrics to eve y song, and especially WILL YOU.
