Comments : My friends and I used to watch it on cable constantly. Of the thousands of supposed cult classics available on DVD this beats them all! Once it's available on DVD I think it will have a very successful second life. Movies about fictional bands can be terrible, this one is fantastic and the songs still hold up! Breaking Glass!

Comments : I remember going out with a punk girl called Ingrid with very big hair from Windsor, and that's not all, anyway the film took me by storm and I went out and bought the album the next day, I have see the film once since on Channel 4 TV, I am surprised that no one has put it on as a musical at the West End, I think it would be a Good Live Show and popular by looking at the guest book on this site. Come on there must be a PuNk out there with a bit of cash 2 back up a project like this. Oh and a big respect the PuNk the put this site up.

Comments : I can remember seeing your film Breaking Glass when i was 14 years old. I was sat sat in the corner of the cinema completely surround by skin heads and punks. Well as soon as the film started there was an uproar of cheers. I was quite shocked cos i was quite a meek and mild teenager back then but i was desperate to see the film. I am so glad i saw it, it was amazing, absolutely mind blowing. I left the cinema that day with the songs swimming around in my head totally ablivious to what was going on around me. People must of thought i was mad. I can honestly say it is one of the best films i have ever seen. It certainly opened my eyes.

Comments : This movie changed my life! I had put it away in the back of my mind for many years. It always crept up every once in awhile and I dreamed of being able to see the movie again. Comments : I know alot of you are gonna think i'm barmy but i watched B.G again last nite and noticed that in the scene where the group board the overnite train Ray Winstone is with them, assumingly replacing Gary Tibbs who is not in that scene. He is also in another scene - during a group/managment meeting. I know from a distance he looks or looked a little like G. Tibbs but i paused the tape and it is without question Ray Winstone. Has anyone else noticed this? Can anyone give me an answer as to why this happened?

One of the movies that was playing at the time (It seems like about 10 times a day) was Breaking Glass. I couldn't remember the name of this movie, but a friend looked it up and told me. But here in the U.S. almost no one has heard of this movie, just a handful of us who were lucky to have HBO in the early 80's or were lucky to catch it on a cable channel. As far as I know, Breaking Glass hasn't been on in U.S. for about 10 or 15 years. Just recently I tried to look for a copy of the video here in the U.S., but with absolutely no luck. I found one dealer who had one but wanted an unbelievable amount of money for it because he had it listed as "rare". He tried to tell me that this movie was so obscure that if I didn't buy his I'd never find it anywhere else. Thank God I didn't give up and stumbled on to this website. I was very impressed by both the movie itself and the soundtrack, but the version they aired was missing the "epilogue"; it ended right after the performance of "Eighth Day", with no resolution. Also, the scene in which the boy is killed during the Nazi march was edited for television. That was the last I ever heard of either the film or the band. I am not aware that the film or any Breaking Glass albums have ever been released in the States. As far as I know, they've been completely forgotten here. I've never even heard anyone talk about them. Until about an hour ago, when I searched for "breaking glass" on impulse, I had no idea how popular Hazel O'Connor is in the U.K., or even that Breaking Glass was a real band. Which came first, the band or the film? I'm currently waiting for the price to come down on the new DVD players that allow you to record your own material. When the time comes, I would like to buy "Breaking Glass" on DVD, preferably the original edition that was released in the U.K. In the meantime, I'll be looking in record stores for the albums. If I don't have any luck in a few weeks, I'll try back on this site to ask for advice. Any filmmaker who sets out to make a rockumentary, real or ficticious, should watch "Breaking Glass" first.

Does anyone out there remember the sureal kids show "Jangles" which featured Hazel as the main character as a singer in a nightclub, suprisingly called Jangles. Comments : I have just come back from Tonbridge last might and the show was truly touching. I did not know what to expect, i have been into Hazel o conner since the breaking glass days , i still do rate this as one of my all time best ever films. I even have the original film poster still framed in my front room. The show was one of the best things i have ever been to, i do hope Hazel writes an autobiogaphy, i am going to go to others on the tour now. Also to meet Hazel at the end was an experience i will never forget, she has such a truly fantastic personality (still!!!) (they dont make them like her anymore) Hazel o conner will always have a place in my heart.....thank you so much for a wonderfull evening and i look forward to see the show again.

Comments : Fab site. I have been a Hazel O'Connor fan since I saw the Film 10 times in a row, back in the early eighties. The film is the best and I still have it on video, I have all the albums and 12" & 7" singles. I have seen Hazel live in 82 then again in 2000 the Beyond Breaking Glass Tour in London at the Curzon in Shaftsbury Ave, What a great show, and so intamate, then the film was shown after, we sat in the front row and were just wowed by Miss O'Connors presence. We spoke to Cormac after as it was his playing with Hazels singing that captured us.

I hadn't forgotten them but it was good to find them in print. My father took me to see the film even though I was still too young. Comments : On her Beyond Breaking Glass Tour in '99, My partner and I were lucky enough to have Hazel and her PA, Viva, stay at our house. Needless to say the few days that they stayed with us were very special. Hazel, Viva and Cormac are the most loving, warm people that we've met in a long time. Her show was stunning and I have been waiting to see her again for a while, hopefully I will get the chance soon. She gave us a demo tape of her Beyond Breaking Glass album, which we loved. I went along with my partner last night to The Bullingdon Arms in Oxford to see her live show. She was stunning. Her personality really comes across and she radiates a lovely warm glow. Comments : I must confess to a teenage obsession with Hazel, she is indeed a very bonny woman. It was rather strange because I happened about ten years after she'd hit the big time and no one else at school had ever heard of her. My obsession was sparked by seeing Breaking Glass during it last showing on Channel 4 (3rd January 1991) and I was just smitten by her looks and what I heard of the music. It lead me to severely pester her agents (lyster, prior and todd) in 1991 and 1992. Seeing her on the programme about Duran Duran last night brought it all back. A minor nostalgia trip's never a bad thing!
